He Was Glad To Do It

Just got done playing basketball. Lost every game. Bricked every shot. As I walked of the court, the stress of finals reclaimed their resting place square on my shoulders. The anti-gospel storm had begun in my heart.

I sat down at my desk and started writing a note to accompany a gift I was giving my friend for Christmas.

As I reflected on the act of giving, my ice cold heart was warmed. Giving was bringing me joy. What a potent reminder of the ultimate gift Christ has given us, and given us joyfully. His inexhaustible love for us drove Christ to the cross to sacrifice Himself as our perfect and all-satisfying gift.

We are so sinful he had to do it, yet we are simultaneously so loved He was glad to do it.
